Rebates and installer quotes require the property owner's go-ahead.
No problem. Solar usually needs the owner's sign-off. If you can involve them, come back any time.

What it costs
What actually moves the number on your quote
Nobody can price your roof from a web page, and any site that gives you a firm figure before seeing it is guessing. These are the things your installer is actually pricing.

Roof and orientation. North-facing gets the most output, but east-west splits often suit households using power morning and evening.
Panel and inverter tier. The gap between budget and premium components is mostly warranty length and degradation rate, not day-one output.
Switchboard and wiring. Older boards sometimes need an upgrade before an install can be signed off. Worth asking about upfront.
Access and storeys. Two-storey, tile, or tight-access roofs take longer to install and that shows up in the labour line.
Rebates & incentives
How the incentives usually work
Programs and amounts change, and eligibility depends on your property. This is the shape of it - your matched installer confirms exactly what applies to you, in writing, as part of the quote.
Applied at the quote
The federal small-scale incentive is almost always taken off the price upfront by the installer, rather than claimed back by you later.
It varies by location
The value is tied to how much energy a system is expected to generate where you live, so the same system is worth a different amount in different parts of the country.
It steps down over time
The federal scheme reduces on a set schedule, so the incentive attached to an install is generally worth less each year it is put off.
Accreditation is the gate
Incentives only apply when the install is done by an accredited installer to the required standard. Every installer we match you with meets that bar.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Genuinely free for homeowners. We're paid by the installer you're matched with, not by you, and it never changes the price you're quoted. The matching service costs you nothing, with zero obligation.
Because being hounded by five salespeople is a miserable experience. We match you exclusively with one top-rated installer for your area. They get your enquiry exclusively, so they're more invested in doing right by you. Not happy after speaking to them? Come back and we'll find an alternative.
Yes. Every installer in the network is a qualified, accredited professional. Accreditation is the standard required to install systems that qualify for government solar incentives, and it's non-negotiable for us.
Most owner-occupied homes are eligible for government solar incentives, but it depends on your property, system and current program rules. Your matched installer confirms exactly what you qualify for as part of the quote, so there are no surprises.
It depends on system size, your roof and how much power you use. After government incentives a typical home system is a mid four-figure investment, but the only accurate number is a quote for your specific property, which your matched installer provides free.
Most residential solar installations are completed in a single day once paperwork and grid approval are sorted. Your matched installer walks you through the exact timeline for your property.
Usually within one business day. Once you're matched, your local installer reaches out directly to talk through your options and put together an obligation-free quote.
We match by postcode. If a vetted installer covers your area, you'll go straight through. If nobody covers your postcode yet, we'll tell you upfront rather than waste your time. We're adding installers all the time.
Ready for a straight-up solar quote?
One short form, one trusted local installer, zero call-centre run-around.
National solar advice averages the whole country and gets Brisbane wrong in both directions. These are the things that actually change the number on a Brisbane quote.
Typical Brisbane figures. Your installer confirms the real numbers for your roof and your network connection.
What
Brisbane
Why it matters to your quote
Sunlight
About 5.2 peak sun hours a day, averaged across the year
Brisbane sits in one of the stronger solar bands in the country. Payback maths written for a national audience usually assumes less generation than you will actually get.
Typical output
A well-oriented 6.6 kW system commonly produces around 24-28 kWh a day, averaged over the year
Summer runs well above that and June-July well below, so judge a quote on annual output rather than a best-day figure.
Federal incentive zone
Zone 3
The small-scale scheme splits Australia into four zones and your postcode picks the zone. The same 6.6 kW system earns a different number of certificates here than in Melbourne or Hobart, and that difference comes off the price upfront.
Network
Energex
Energex sets the export rules for south-east Queensland, and they are the most common reason a Brisbane quote gets resized after the site inspection.
Export limits are the thing most Brisbane quotes get resized over
Most Brisbane homes are on a single-phase connection, and Energex applies an export cap of 5 kW per phase. A three-phase home can therefore export considerably more. This limits what you send to the grid, not what you can install: single-phase homes can commonly fit meaningfully more inverter capacity than they can export, with the surplus running the house instead of being sold back.
Energex has also been rolling out dynamic connections, which lift the export ceiling when the local network has capacity to take it. Availability depends on your street, not your suburb, so it is worth asking your installer which applies to your address before you agree on a system size. A quote built around exporting more than your connection allows will be revised later.
This is also why a bigger system is not automatically a better one here. If your household uses little power during the day and your exports are capped, the extra panels earn less than the brochure suggests.
Brisbane roofs, hail and salt
Tin is quick, tile is not. A lot of Brisbane housing stock is elevated Colorbond or corrugated steel, which is fast to mount on and easy to access. Terracotta and cement tile take longer and carry more breakage risk, and that shows up in the labour line.
South-east Queensland gets hail. Storm season is a real consideration here in a way it is not in Perth or Adelaide. Ask what the panel's hail rating is and check how your home insurer treats a roof-mounted array.
Bayside means salt. Closer to Moreton Bay, salt exposure attacks mounting hardware long before it touches the panels. Corrosion-rated rails and fixings are worth specifying, and worth seeing itemised on the quote.
Heat cuts output. Panels lose efficiency as they get hot, so a Brisbane summer does not produce quite as much as the raw sunshine hours imply. Good installers allow for it and leave an air gap under the array.
Brisbane questions
Asked most often in Brisbane
Brisbane averages roughly 5.2 peak sun hours a day across the year, which is at the strong end for an Australian capital. In practice a well-oriented 6.6 kW system commonly produces somewhere around 24-28 kWh a day averaged over twelve months, with summer well above that and midwinter well below. Shading, roof pitch and orientation move it more than the brand of panel does, which is why the only reliable figure is one calculated for your actual roof.
Energex is the network for south-east Queensland and applies an export cap of 5 kW per phase, so a single-phase home and a three-phase home are treated very differently. That cap limits what you send back to the grid, not what you are allowed to install - you can usually fit more inverter capacity than you can export and use the surplus in the house. Energex is also rolling out dynamic connections that raise the ceiling where the local network can take it, and eligibility varies street by street. Ask your installer to confirm which applies at your address before agreeing on a system size.
Both matter here. South-east Queensland gets genuine storm and hail seasons, so the panel's hail rating and how your home insurance treats the array are worth checking before you sign. Nearer Moreton Bay, salt exposure corrodes mounting hardware years before it affects the panels, so corrosion-rated rails and fixings are worth specifying and worth seeing itemised rather than assumed.
